How to Prepare for a Maternity Photoshoot
As a photographer specializing in maternity photography, my primary goal is to ensure my clients' comfort and confidence throughout the session. While I can provide guidance on hairstyling and wardrobe choices, your comfort remains my top priority.
I understand the challenges of finding flattering clothing for your expanding belly during pregnancy. Many women struggle to find options that offer enough torso length while providing appropriate coverage. I have purchased a variety of maternity dresses for my clients to use, free of charge, to take the stress out of finding something beautiful to wear. I will also be available to share some helpful tips when we start planning your photoshoot.

Now, let's discuss what you should bring with you. Since our shoot will involve spending a good amount of time together (which also means plenty of conversation), it's a good idea to have snacks and water with you on the day of our shoot if we are shooting on location. Bring a towel if we are shooting at the beach. Bring some hair clips or hair ties with for if we experience some wind, although I do watch the weather reports carefully before our shoot for bad weather. Bring some gloss or lip stick with you too for touch ups as we go. It's usually best to wear nude/tan/white underwear and be mindful about bra straps showing as I cannot edit them out. I will bring a changing tent for you to change outfits inside easily and privately. If you have a nice space at home to shoot in, of course we can do the photoshoot in the comfort of your home too.
And lastly, remember to relax and enjoy the experience. No need to worry about achieving perfection – just concentrate on creating beautiful memories, as we'll be capturing plenty of them. I will guide you to get your best angles and to make you look like the gorgeous mama that you are!
